Clinical outcomes and predictors of improved left ventricular ejection fraction in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction due to non-ischemic cardiomyopathy

نویسندگان

چکیده

Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) improvement is the cornerstone of LV reverse remodelling. It prognosticates heart failure with reduced (HFrEF). There limited data on clinical factors that predict LVEF among non-ischemic cardiomyopathy (NICM) patients in Malaysia.

Revascularization in ischemic heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. The impact of complete revascularization

Heart failure is a growing problem worldwide, with coronary artery disease being the underlying cause of over two-thirds of cases. Revascularization in this group of patients may potentially inhibit the progressive damage to the myocardium and lead to improved outcomes, but data in this area are scarce. This article emphasizes the role of qualification for revascularization and selection of met...

Changes in Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction Predict Survival and Hospitalization in Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction.

BACKGROUND Left ventricular remodeling, as commonly measured by left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), is associated with clinical outcomes. Although change in LVEF over time should reflect response to therapy and clinical course, serial measurement of LVEF is inconsistently performed in observational settings, and the incremental prognostic value of change in LVEF has not been well charact...

Atrial Fibrillation and Outcomes in Heart Failure With Preserved Versus Reduced Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction

BACKGROUND Atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure (HF) are 2 of the most common cardiovascular conditions nationally and AF frequently complicates HF. We examined how AF has impacts on adverse outcomes in HF-PEF versus HF-REF within a large, contemporary cohort. METHODS AND RESULTS We identified all adults diagnosed with HF-PEF or HF-REF based on hospital discharge and ambulatory visit di...

Chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction.

Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction is a clinical syndrome of dysp nea, exercise intolerance and/or edema resulting from an impairment of ejec tion of blood, usually documented by a left ventricular ejection fraction of 40% or less on echocardiography.1,2 Cor on ary artery disease is a major cause; therefore, stress testing or, in the pres ence of angina, coronary angiography shoul...

Heart Failure Due to Reduced Ejection Fraction: Medical Management.

Heart failure is an increasingly common condition resulting in high rates of morbidity and mortality. For patients who have heart failure and reduced ejection fraction, randomized clinical trials demonstrate consistent mortality benefit from angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, direct-acting vasodilators, beta blockers, and aldosterone antagonists. Additional...
